For this blog post, I received a complimentary meal from Carrabba’s Italian Grill, but all my opinions are my own.
Unlike some stuff in life, Carrabba’s is easy. They are convenient and perfect for group settings. As familiar with their dishes as I am, I’m happy to see some new plates come out every so often to keep it all fresh and new. This past week I had the opportunity to try out some new small plates while out to dinner with some friends.
The new small plates menu at Carrabba’s is perfect for a group setting. We ordered a handful and passed it around the table so everyone could enjoy. That’s the thing about Carrabba’s – the setting is always familiar, no matter who you’re enjoying it with. It’s family-friendly, even with their delicious Blackberry Sangria consumed in abundance, and their menu, while always maintaining an undertone of sameness, is diverse enough that there’s always something for everyone.
On our most recent visit, we had:
Wine and Sangria. I, unfortunately, did not partake (#baby), but I can totally vouch for the pleasures of having a glass of wine with dinner. Yet another thing that’s simple and easy at Carrabba’s because of their great happy hour.
On a previous visit I had this small plate – grilled asparagus with prosciutto – so I already knew it was great, especially with the balsamic glaze.
These delicious mushrooms were stuffed with Italian sausage and spinach and three cheeses: ricotta, romano and mozzarella.
The Mozzarella Rustica was my favorite small plates of the evening. Perfectly fried and crisp and full of mozzarella and ricotta. I definitely recommend you order this on your next visit!
This dish definitely isn’t a small plate, it’s on the entree menu, but I had to highlight it because it’s so good. Carrabba’s used to have a seasonal salad with parmesan crusted chicken on top of arugula that I ordered constantly. This Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Arugula is almost exactly that, but the chicken is the highlight rather than the salad. It’s a win for sure.
We each also had an entree and ordered some dessert. Because when you go to Carrabba’s with a group, you just can’t help it. 😉
