Reinventing Snacks with Quinn Snacks

Max is of the age where he can tell me what he wants to eat, and what he doesn’t want to eat. Our conversations typically go something like this:

“Eggs?”

“No.” (an emphatic one)

“Macaroni and cheese?”

“No.”

“Noodles?”

“No.”

“Well, what do you want?”

“Peanut butter and jelly.”

It’s like, couldn’t you have just said that from the beginning? To his credit he sometimes does, but other times he likes to keep me guessing.

Quinn Snacks pretzels

One thing that he is always quick to request recently are pretzels. What an obscure request, one may think, but we have a stockpile of pretzels from Quinn Snacks in our home and basically my boy now knows what quality pretzels taste like. In my quest to provide the best I can to my children, Quinn Snacks checks all the boxes.

First of all, Max was grabbing the pretzels and eating them with a quickness that would normally be reserved for the time when you know the kid on the playground is charging at you to steal your food and so you should shovel as much as you can, as fast as you can. He ate these pretzels for snack at the zoo the other day and did so in such a way that I was left wondering if I had in fact ever fed my kid in the history of his 25 months here on Earth or if it was all just a dream. Complete shovel movement happening from container to mouth. He didn’t even want to put the snack away so he could ride the merry-go-round. That’s how you know he means serious business.

If Max is going to pick a favorite snack, THIS is exactly the kind of snack I don’t mind him having. Here’s why:

  1. Quinn Snacks pretzels are non-GMO. Instead, they are made with Ancient Whole Grain. Honestly, you can taste the difference, but in a really wonderful, is this what real pretzels taste like, kind of way. As in, holy crap, these are really good and I feel happy consuming them.
  2. These pretzels are also gluten-free, corn free, dairy free and soy free. It is absolutely possible to make a product that tastes great without compromising on these things.
  3. You’ll find organics. Most of the ingredients in these pretzels are organic, and when they use organic palm oil, it’s also certified RSPO which means it’s certified to protect the rain forest!!
  4. We know where the flour comes from. Quinn Snacks is big on Farm-to-Bag and source ingredients from farmers they get to know. The whole grain sorghum flour in these pretzels, for instance, is from Nu Life Sorghum Growers in Kansas. So they get to know the farmers and then share that information with us, their consumers. I love this so much that I literally got the chills reading about Earl Roemer, the fourth generation farmer behind Nu Life, and his partnership with Quinn. Please check out the details about all their growers and suppliers – it’s truly impressive!

For the non-2 year old crowd, the Quinn Snacks Popcorn Kernels is perfect for you! These pop at home kernels can be done right on the stovetop for an even better snack than the microwaved popcorn you might have been used to. (But, Quinn Snacks also has microwavable popcorn, see below!) (more…)
